SHARE IN OUR GROWTH     Since the site "went public" in April 2003, go2wo.com has attracted a rapidly increasing level of Internet traffic. In fact, it is more than doubling every two months, with the number of "hits" expected to exceed 1 million per month by the end of our first year. By any standard, that is a tremendous response.   While many have urged us to do what many others have done and seek public investment, we at go2wo Pty Ltd prefer to keep our feet firmly on the ground. In any case, we see ourselves, first and foremost, as offering a public service. We have no desire to make excessive profits from our small venture.   Still, we do want go2wo.com to survive and grow, and the only way that can be done is by seeking the assistance of sponsors like you for each of our pages. With your support we can continue to expand and improve the information we provide. But the benefits are not all ours. Those who join with us can expect to share in this rapidly expanding exposure to the world.   It's a simple fact: the more money invested in go2wo.com the better the service it provides; the better the service the larger the audience it attracts. Hence, we and our sponsors both succeed.   ADVERTISING POLICY     In short, go2wo prefers to support those who share our values. That's why we always welcome the support from other community-focussed organisations, from corporates who support non-profit organisations, and from organisations which provide business services to the wider community. But we also recognise that good business is profitable business, and we believe that the benefits to be gained from advertising on go2wo.com will always far outweigh the very small cost.   go2wo Pty Ltd reserves the right to refuse certain advertising. We will not knowingly publish false or misleading advertisements nor those which we consider racist or likely to incite animosity or hatred towards others. We will not accept the advertising of gambling or pornographic web sites or services, and while we are open-minded, we do not in any way wish our site to be associated with these services. Simply put, that is not what our site is about.   SOME OBSERVATIONS     In the first few months of our existence, we have noticed some patterns in who is visiting go2wo.com and what they are interested in. This may reflect the information we provide in these early days, but we tend to think it's more than likely a result of the "flavour" of our site. These observations include: A general interest in developing countries. A specific focus on those places "in the news". Most enquiries from the developed world. Because of this connection with the developing world, and the real world limitations on bandwidth in less-developed countries, our aim is to always keep the site as simple as possible. That's why we try to keep our page sizes to a maximum of 35 kilobytes and use very simple graphics. That way, we hope to remain accessible to the widest possible audience across the entire globe.   OUR RATES     Advertising on go2wo.com is very simple. We offer space for banner ads at the bottom of each page. The cost of a banner on our home page is US$50 per calendar month. For all other pages the cost of a banner is US$10 per month. The minimum purchase is three months, paid in advance. Otherwise, it's "first in best dressed".   Please note that we have fixed these rates until at least January 1, 2005.   BANNER SPECIFICATIONS   Advertising banners must not exceed 500 x 65 pixels (13 x 1.75 cm), and the file must not exceed 5KB in size (see our "Observations", above).
